Prime Big Deal Days marks the first event on the Christmas sales calendar, ahead of Black Friday in November, and is a celebration of Prime membership. This year Prime Big Deal Days will run for longer than ever before, with 7 whole days of deals kicking off just after midnight, 00:01 AM on Tuesday October 7 and wrapping up at 11:59 PM on Monday October 13.

To assist with Prime Big Deal Days and other major sales like Black Friday, Amazon is searching for enthusiastic people to help pick, pack and ship customer orders, ensuring shoppers receive their deliveries on time, ahead of the holidays.

Amazon’s seasonal roles are across all of its Australian fulfilment centres and logistics sites, with applications now open in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Newcastle, Gold Coast, Gosford and Geelong, and no previous experience is required.

Amazon Australia is committed to helping its employees grow their careers through onsite skills training and paid for tuition.

Michelle Theophilou, Senior HR Manager, Amazon Australia said, “There is no previous experience required as we provide on-the-job training, so we are just looking for enthusiastic people to sign up for a seasonal role. These roles are a great way to gain experience, learn new skills and even kick-start a long-term career at Amazon.”

Seasonal roles can open the door to permanent employment opportunities at Amazon Australia. Permanent positions offer employee benefits including free life insurance and subsidised health insurance for the entire family.

Alongside the 1,800 seasonal workers that Amazon Australia will onboard, the company has created and onboarded more than 1,500 permanent roles this year across its operational network.

Amazon Associate Rajeshwar Singh started off as a seasonal worker over the festive season in 2023, before he accepted a full-time position at Amazon’s Robotic Fulfilment Centre.

Rajeshwar said, “When I first started working at the Amazon Robotics Fulfilment Centre, I felt like I’d stepped into the future – and my journey since then has been incredible. Starting as a seasonal hire, I quickly moved up to become a problem solver and now I’m proud to be leading a team of 30 to 50 people on my own. The support I’ve received here has been amazing, from the flexible schedule that lets me spend quality time with my young family to the managers who’ve helped me grow in my career, and that’s why I’d encourage anyone looking for their next opportunity to join us.”
