The new windows mean Prime members can now order from hundreds of thousands of products before bed (10pm) and have them waiting at their door before 8am, order before breakfast and have it by the afternoon, or order at lunch and have it by the evening - giving customers faster delivery speed, greater choice and more control over their deliveries.
The launch expands on Amazon’s existing Prime Free Same-Day service with shorter, more specific delivery windows on a huge selection of eligible products across categories including everyday essentials, small appliances and electronics, home and kitchen, beauty, books, toys, clothes, shoes, and more. One million products are available to customers in Sydney, while customers in Melbourne can shop over half a million.
To help ‘deliver gold overnight’ Amazon Australia has teamed up with a squad of Aussies who have been delivering gold overnight in Glasgow themselves. Aussie gold medalists swimmer Cam McEvoy, weightlifter Eileen Cikamatana, gymnast Jesse Moore, and champion para-athlete swimmer and commentator extraordinaire Alexa Leary teamed up with Amazon to form the "Prime Gold Squad" and bring overnight delivery to Prime members across Sydney and Melbourne.
To find items eligible for Prime Free Same-Day delivery, Prime members can look for items marked with Prime delivery and available delivery time slots on product detail pages on the Amazon App or website, including:
- Overnight Delivery — “Get it overnight”, “Prime Overnight” or “Get it Tomorrow by 8am”.Order by 10pm and it's at your door between 4am and 8am, ready before work or the school run. Overnight deliveries are left quietly at your designated safe location without knocking or ringing the doorbell, so you can wake up to your order without being disturbed.
- Afternoon Same-Day Delivery — “Fastest Delivery: Today” or “Get it Today by 6pm”. Order by 8am and receive it between 2pm and 6pm. Order over breakfast, get it by the afternoon.
- Evening Same-Day Delivery — “Get it Today by 10pm”. Order by 12 noon and receive it between 5pm and 10pm. Order over lunch, get it by bedtime.
Arno Lenior, Director of Prime for Amazon Australia, said, "Speed and convenience have always been at the heart of our delivery investment in Australia. We're seeing more demand from customers for delivery options that fit around their lives, not the other way around. Many Prime members already enjoy Same-Day delivery by 10pm, but today we’re going further by introducing new afternoon, evening, and overnight delivery windows on a huge selection of products. This is a step change in what Australians can expect from online delivery - and it comes at no extra cost for Prime members on eligible orders over $49."
"We designed these windows around real life — whether it's ordering a birthday present before bed and finding it at your door by morning, or grabbing a replacement skincare product at lunch and having it by evening. Customers now have the speed, selection, and flexibility to shop on their own terms. We're continuing to invest heavily in our Australian delivery network, and our ambition is to bring this experience to more Prime members across the country.”
Amazon Day: Fewer boxes, more convenience
Also launching today for Prime members across the country is Amazon Day — a delivery option that lets customers choose a specific day of the week to receive all their eligible orders in a single delivery. Instead of receiving multiple packages across multiple days, Prime members can select their preferred Amazon Day during checkout and have their orders grouped together and delivered on that chosen day.
Amazon Day gives customers more control over when packages arrive, making it easier to plan around busy schedules and ensure someone is home to receive deliveries. It also means fewer trips to the door and less packaging, as items are consolidated into fewer shipments. Prime members can change their selected Amazon Day at any time in their delivery settings.
