New Ways to Gift in 2025
With rising living costs affecting holiday plans, Australians are getting creative with their gift-giving strategies. New research commissioned by Amazon Australia reveals 70% of Australians are trying to find new ways to celebrate and exchange gifts with friends and family this holiday season, while 85% are more determined than ever to stick to their budget this year.
Secret Santa or Kris Kringle exchanges are emerging as a popular alternative to individual gifting, with a third of Australians (33%) considering this approach to help save money during the holidays. When it comes to Secret Santa spending, 66% of Australians prefer to keep their budget at $30 or under, with 2 in 5 (39%) wanting to set the limit at $20 - making Amazon Haul's selection of products under $25 perfectly aligned with what shoppers are looking to spend.
The research also found that 18% of Australians are considering giving small stocking stuffer presents over large ticket items, while 10% would be open to "gamifying" gift-giving with Bad Santa exchanges to help save money this holiday season.
At a loss for what to buy? This holiday season Aussies are skewing pragmatic with their wish lists, almost half (46%) say something practical makes the best gift, and 2 in 5 (39%) want something heart felt.

To help Australians find the perfect Secret Santa gifts, stocking stuffers, decorations and other holiday flare, Amazon Haul is hosting its biggest shopping event yet with extra-special promotions during this two-day celebration:
- Shop select $1 special items across multiple categories (limit 3 units per customer)
- Save $10 off purchases on November 10 with promo code HAUL10FRENZY (no minimum spend, one use per customer)
- Save $11 off purchases on November 11 with promo code HAUL11FRENZY (no minimum spend, one use per customer)
Hidden Treasures, Incredible Selection
Since launching in Australia in August this year, Amazon Haul has offered hundreds of thousands of products all priced under $25 in a fun, easy, and convenient shopping experience. While Amazon Haul started as a U.S.-only shopping experience, it has quickly expanded to serve customers in 25 countries and regions, including Australia, with plans for continued expansion in 2026.

A New Way to Shop for Holiday Gifts
Amazon Haul has its own shopping experience, search, basket, and checkout so customers can build up a great haul of items at low prices. The shopping experience is available through the Amazon Shopping app and mobile browser and has been designed to offer a fun, engaging way to shop, with orders arriving in two weeks or less.
As Australian shoppers look for savings to stretch budgets and make dollars go further, Amazon Haul offers a wide selection across best-selling categories including fashion, beauty, home, and pet supplies. Customers will the find trustworthy shopping experience they know and love from Amazon and love to help them select products that are right for them at fantastic, low prices. If a customer wants to return an item for change of mind, they can do so within 15 days of receipt.
All items are priced $25 or less with hundreds of thousands priced $10 and under, and some items as low as $1. Customers can find Amazon Haul in the Amazon Shopping app and mobile browser by searching "Haul" in the search bar or navigating to Amazon Haul from the main menu icon. With the amazing momentum we’re seeing in the Haul experience, the “beta” designation on the experience is being removed globally.
