Our commitment is already reflected in the Amazon Flex delivery experience in Australia. We provide safety resources including articles and videos to all Amazon Flex delivery partners in the Amazon Flex app. Delivery partners receive protective gear, including water-resistant backpacks, sunscreen, headlamps, and vehicle magnets. Everyone, including Amazon Flex delivery partners, must wear closed-heel-and-toe shoes and high-visibility safety vests at delivery stations and during deliveries. The Emergency Help button in the app gives delivery partners direct access to emergency services and support. Finally, we collaborate with stakeholders to continuously improve safety standards.
This is why we're proud to be a founding signatory of the Platform Delivery Safety Principles, developed by the National Road Safety Partnership Program (NRSPP) and Monash University Accident Research Centre in collaboration with other industry members.
The Platform Delivery Safety Principles establish safety standards across platform delivery operators in Australia. This covers safety resources, protective equipment, and incident reporting. The principles recognise that many delivery workers operate across multiple platforms. Together, the principles aim to create an industry-wide approach to safety that benefits everyone on our roads. Amazon Flex already meets the NRSPP standards.
By becoming a founding signatory, we’re proud to set an example for the industry, and reinforce our commitment to safety for delivery partners and the broader community. This aligns with Amazon’s vision to set the benchmark for safety excellence across every industry where we operate. The principles are owned and maintained by NRSPP and Monash University, with signatories meeting annually to discuss safety trends and policy developments.
