Investing in employees' futures

The goal of Career Choice is simple: provide eligible employees with the tools for success, no matter where they plan to work in the future.

Career Choice is an education benefit that empowers eligible employees to learn new skills for career success at Amazon or elsewhere. The program removes financial barriers by prepaying tuition and reimbursing eligible fees, providing access to education and training opportunities that prepare employees for in-demand careers. It pre-pays up to 100% of tuition fees and associated costs for nationally recognised courses: up to $8,000 per year, every year.

Amazon Flex delivery partner opportunities also available nationwide.

Career Choice sits within Amazon's Future Ready 2030 commitment — a $2.5 billion global pledge to help 50 million people build skills for the future of work, with $1 billion committed to Career Choice. Over 300,000 employees worldwide have already used Career Choice to build new skills and pursue in-demand careers.

The program is available in 14 countries: Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

What's new in Australia

Amazon has added new programs in Australia focused on high-growth fields. All qualifications offered are externally recognised, and every program is designed to lead to real opportunities.

These are fields where there's demand and growing opportunities, so employees can build skills now that will take them into the future.

Health Services

  • Safety Specialist — This program offers a Certificate in Work Health and Safety (WHS). It helps employees build skills to manage WHS in any workplace.
  • Regulated Waste Coordinator— This program empowers employees in building future-ready capabilities that contribute to more sustainable workplaces and communities.

Technology

Mechanical/Industrial Systems

  • Telecommunications Cabling and Wiring Technician This course prepares employees for roles in installing, maintaining, and supporting modern telecommunications networks. It is one of Australia's most in-demand technical qualifications.
  • Data Center Engineering Technician— This course prepares employees to work with NBN, fibre optic, and structured data networks, creating pathways into NBN rollout, 5G, and data center roles.

Transportation

  • Truck Driver - Designed to help employees earn their Heavy Vehicle License, this course provides a pathway into a career in truck driving.

Language courses continue to be available from Day 1 of employment.

Who is eligible?

In Australia, Career Choice is available to eligible full-time, flex time, part time, or reduced time employees after one year of continuous employment. Language courses are the exception, available from Day 1.

All coursework is completed in employees' own time, outside of their regular working hours, giving them the flexibility to learn at a pace that suits their schedule.

Building skills for the future

As technology transforms industries and new skills become essential, the Career Choice program will continue to evolve its offerings. The goal is to make sure every program leads to opportunities, whether it be at Amazon or elsewhere — giving employees the freedom to follow their career aspirations, wherever they may lead.
