Amazon has opened seasonal roles across its Australian fulfilment centres and logistics sites, with applications now open in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Newcastle, Gold Coast, Gosford and Geelong, with no previous experience required.
Michelle Theophilou, Senior HR Manager, Amazon Australia said, “We’re looking for enthusiastic people who are interested in gaining experience, learning new skills and even kick-starting their career long term at Amazon.”
“There is no previous experience required as we provide on-the-job training, so whether you’re a university student looking to earn during study break, a retiree eager to stay connected or anyone in between, these seasonal roles offer a rewarding way to earn some money in a positive and safe environment.”
For many seasonal workers, a short-term role at Amazon has been the first step towards a permanent career. Permanent roles offer employee benefits including subsidised health insurance for the entire family, free life insurance, up to 20 weeks parental leave pay for full-time associates and a free Amazon Prime membership.
Amazon Australia continues to commit to helping its employees grow their careers through onsite skills training and paid for tuition through Amazon Career Choice, an educational benefit that empowers employees through prepaid education and skills training.
Alongside the 3,000 seasonal workers that Amazon Australia will onboard, the company has created more than 450 permanent roles this year across its operational network.
Amazon associate Dalma Cabrera started off as a seasonal worker in September 2022, before accepting a permanent position as a Learning Ambassador, where she helps train and support new team members joining the team.
Dalma said, “When I started as a seasonal worker, I didn't know what to expect. Once I got on the inside, I was really impressed by how organised everything was, especially the way people and technology worked together. The training and support I received gave me confidence to grow, and that's what led to joining the team full time.
“I now help train new starters and support them as they begin their journey at Amazon. It's incredibly rewarding to see people I trained years ago still working here and succeeding in their roles. Amazon has given me opportunities to build new skills, grow my career and meet people who have become lifelong friends. It's a diverse workplace with real opportunities to develop, and I’d encourage anyone considering a seasonal role to apply.
